Just Another Manic Monday

Published by adrienne under The Mommy

Actually, the kids have been pretty quiet today. Andrew is pretty sedate since he is on Tylenol 3 for his head. Olivia’s shots made her sick so she has slept a lot today. She has dropped down to 9 1/2 pounds now because she hasn’t wanted to eat since Friday. We are going to take the kids for pizza tonight for FHE since we couldn’t get into Chuck E. Cheese’s on Saturday.

Hairspray or Blood?

Published by adrienne under The Kiddos

Hmmm, which would I rather mop up- hairspray or blood? I think I’ll take the hairspray, thank you, Andrew.
Today as Jared and I were cleaning in the kitchen, Andrew (who was supposed to be quietly watching a movie in his room) appears at the top of the stairs screaming. I turn and look and all of a sudden I am the supporting actress in a horror movie. Andrew has a gaping hole the size of a marble in his forehead, right between his eyes. Not a gash or a cut, a HOLE! Jared adequately describes it as being like a gunshot wound in the head that you see in the movies. I scoop him up and we grab the kids to take over to the neighbors while we go the hospital when, miraculously, my Uncle Mark pulls up. So I shove the kids at him, manage a few garbled explanations, and off we go to the hospital. Jared pulls up, tires squealing, and I hop out and run in like a madwoman, screaming at the registration nurse, “My son has a hole in his head!” Andrew took it like a trooper and after several stitches went in, he contentedly sucked away on a popsicle.
It will truly be amazing if I don’t have a heart attack before these 3 crazy boys grow up! Especially with Andrew, since he seems doomed to a life where the hospital is his “home away from home.” Poor guy!

D-Day

Published by adrienne under The Kiddos

Today was D-Day… doctor’s appointment for Olivia. 4 shots- ouch! She was a little trooper, though. She is 10 pounds and 22.6 inches. She’s petite, but healthy. Her new Bumbo chair came in today and she thinks she’s a big girl sitting in it watching her brothers wreak havoc.
Taylor, Andrew, and Cameron have discovered a new game- “Let’s fix each other’s hair!” So lucky Mommy got to play the “mop sticky hairspray off the floor” game!
